Behind the scenes

What I'm actually doingto get ready for the AI layoffs.

The channel shows the finished version. This list gets the one in progress. The spending I'm cutting, the income I'm building, and the decisions I'd rather not make on camera yet.

Who it's for, and who it isn't

If you're like most people who find me, you have a good job and you can feel the ground moving under it. You're not panicking. You're doing math. You'd rather have a plan before you need one.

I'm James. I'm a software engineer at a large tech company. I grew a YouTube channel past 100,000 subscribers on nights and weekends, burned out chasing a promotion that never came, and decided to build something sturdier than a title. A wife and five kids depend on it working.

Let me be straight with you. I haven't finished this. That's the point. You get to watch it being built instead of reading the polished version after. Some of it will be wrong. I'll say so.

What you get

  • Pivot Point. The salary a lower-stress job needs to pay you, after your spending is honest, and what any side income has to cover
  • Expense Audit. Name what each monthly expense is really for, flag what you could release, and see the money and hours you get back
  • Promotion Reality Check. What chasing a promotion really pays per extra hour, after tax and odds, and what those hours could buy instead
  • The behind the scenes updates, while the decisions are still being made

Put me on the waitlist

Not for you if you want to climb the ladder faster. Not for you if you want views for their own sake. There are better places for both.

P.S. The waitlist hears about every decision first, before any of it reaches the channel. The decision to prepare has waited long enough.
